One of the best—and most interesting—things we can do for our clients and ourselves is to bring together a group of people with varying strengths and backgrounds. Our staff represents a host of countries, educational and cultural backgrounds, professional experiences, interests and beliefs. At Oliver Wyman, people define our firm. While our work is high impact and high stakes, the atmosphere at Oliver Wyman is noticeably friendly and collegial. Oliver Wyman focuses on output, not input, and fundamentally rejects the culture of “long hours for long hours’ sake”. Ours is a community that values a healthy exchange of ideas, teamwork and mutual respect. We see no conflict whatsoever between doing great work and having fun. Also, we encourage our staff to pursue interests out of work, as it makes them better consultants and more interesting colleagues.
