Our client had been facing a rapid decrease in its core business, caused by commoditization, price wars, new technologies, and virtual operators. Oliver Wyman designed and implemented an accelerated business transformation program to turn around the core business and grow a strong service-related business. We worked with client teams to identify opportunities to make the cost base more variable and to develop new revenue sources, built a transformation roadmap (including a new organizational structure, reward mechanisms, and skill development plan), and contributed to selected work streams to deliver results. Over $300M in EBITDA improvement opportunities (from cost reductions and new revenue sources) have been identified and are being pursued.
