Developed integrated materials management and engine maintenance program for Engine OEM
Engine OEM: The client entered into a contract for a long-term, highly integrated materials management program, covering both repair and scrap replacement for an airline customer. Oliver Wyman led the implementation of the materials management program, working jointly with the OEM and the airline customer. The team:
• Developed an overall implementation plan and transition schedule for the materials management program
• Led joint client teams to develop new operational processes to support the program, including on-site OEM warehouse operations and inventory transfer and engine part tracking/routing/shipping
• Provided contract education across all levels of organization
• Developed and implemented broad-based infrastructure to support the ongoing management of the program, including organizational structures, processes, roles, tools, and technologies
• Designed a comprehensive performance management program, including maintenance review boards, balanced scorecards, and dispute resolution
• Supported Lean value stream mapping and joint Kaizen initiatives to improve operational efficiency for the engine maintenance program
