FASTER PAYMENTS

The U.S. Federal Reserve released its landmark report, Strategies for improving the US payments system, in January 2015.  This report called for efforts to implement a faster payments system in the US and the creation of a blue-ribbon industry-wide task force to explore the attributes for a new system.

Tony Hayes, partner and global lead of Oliver Wyman’s payments practice, was selected to serve on this task force.  The group’s final report was released in July 2017.

WORLD ECONOMIC FORUM

Oliver Wyman has a standing partnership with the World Economic Forum.  At the 2017 annual event in Davos, we facilitated the dialogue with leading organizations on strategic issues in healthcare and financial services.

Tasked with balancing financial stability and economic growth, one of Oliver Wyman’s primary work streams involved developing a workshop looking at transformative forces within the payments space, the associated opportunities and challenges, and the initial areas where both private and public corporations could investigate those opportunities and challenges. The research culminated in a comprehensive perspective on the “future of payments” which was shared with members of the forum.

PAYMENTS BREAKFASTS

Oliver Wyman recently hosted its 3rd annual Payments Breakfasts in London, Madrid, and Milan, focused on the most pressing topics in the European payments landscape.
