Countering Amazon

E-commerce continues to barrel along a path of exponential growth, finding new ways to reach shoppers and expanding into new retail market segments.

Amazon is the most important member of the e-commerce vanguard from a logistics perspective, as it regularly drives the bar higher for customer convenience. But that doesn’t mean that traditional retail stores are out of options.

As described in our publication, “omnichannel” logistics – i.e., taking advantage of the strengths of traditional retail combined with integrated online services – could not only offer a counter to Amazon and other e-commerce giants but provide customers with more innovative ways to shop.  E-tailers have been so successful in part by disrupting and innovating the retail space – it’s time for brick-and-mortar-based retailers to be disruptive in turn.
