Christian Edelmann

Partner and Global Head Corporate & Institutional Banking and Wealth & Asset Management
Christian studied business and economics at university, with a focus on banking, as well as law. He's now a Partner in Oliver Wyman's London office and the Head of Oliver Wyman’s Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) and Wealth and Asset Management (WAM) practices. He is also the global co-sponsor for WOW, the resource group for Women at Oliver Wyman.

While his study of banking developed his industry experience, studying law taught him much about the structured thinking he uses in his work every day.

Christian has lived and worked in countries all over the world, including North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. He loves that working in diverse environments can help him develop unique client relationships and positively impact his own work attitude:

A real turning-point for me was my move to Asia in 2009. My years there were tremendously rewarding personally, I made many new friendships, I learned much about different cultures and it was just enjoyable to work in one of the fastest growing geographies in the world.

Christian helps his clients to solve their most pressing problems. He knows that the most effective solutions come from understanding and a great working relationship.

A lot of what we are doing today is helping our clients address more operational challenges in their businesses. My clients often come to me for an opinion on topics they have been grappling with for a while – our fact-based approach has helped clients to overcome long-standing obstacles and look at things in a new way to find better and long lasting solutions.
