Wall Street Journal: Hunter Williams On Cereal Sales

Oliver Wyman partner Hunter Williams was quoted in a Wall Street Journal story titled “Cereal Makers Try Again to Jump-Start Stale Sales.” The article explores how changing breakfast habits are impacting cereal sales and what cereal makers are doing about it.

Cereal has been a mainstay of center aisles in grocery stores, where retailers typically place everything from pasta to sugar. Grocery stores have taken much of their profit from this area but sales there have been hit hard by trends toward online shopping and fresher foods.

“Grocers are forced to be a little bit more selective as trips to center stores go down,” said Hunter Williams, partner at consulting firm Oliver Wyman.
