Financial Times: Partner Javier Garcia On the UK’s Performance In Latest Stress Tests

In an article on the European Banking Authority’s latest stress tests, the Financial Times points to upcoming hardship for British lenders as they struggle to improve their profitability and deal with the potential fallout of Brexit.

Despite poor performance among UK banks, the results nevertheless found that the region’s top 48 banks had enough capital to withstand the worst-case Brexit scenarios.

Commenting on the results, partner Javier Garcia said, “The UK was the most affected geography, both in terms of adverse CET1 depletion and ending CET1, driven by the severity of the scenario for them.”
