Today the Office of National Statistics (ONS) released UK retail data for October 2017, showing sales are down 0.3 percent compared to October 2016.
In its reporting of the statistics, The Financial Times have quoted Retail and Consumer Goods Partner Duncan Brewer.
“The slow-down in October of -0.3% compared to the previous year is not very surprising, given the strong October 2016 sales and that consumers tend to buy more if the weather is colder in Autumn.”
