Chris McMillan, a Partner in Oliver Wyman’s data and technology practice, has featured in The Times around the opportunities available to consumer-facing businesses through the forthcoming General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
He predicts that big companies, possibly the global tech giants, will create ‘data passports’ for their customers that allow hold all their personal data in one place. The holder of the data passport would be able to monetize the data while the customers would get customized products and services, all while knowing their data was secure.
