Why Oliver Wyman?
I was definitely impressed by the eclectic mix of high-caliber, intellectual people I met during the recruiting process, and knew early on that this was a place I would love to work. OW’s global approach to staffing was also a big draw. I knew I wanted to do project work in the Middle East, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to permanently relocate. I managed to get myself on a project in Egypt and Dubai and had the chance to make use of my Arabic language skills with the client. The entire project was a phenomenal experience and one I certainly didn’t expect to have so early in my career.
Real work, real fast
On my very first project, I worked with my team to generate ideas and run analyses that went directly to the client’s CEO. I’ve since managed junior consultants and built direct relationships with clients. It’s extremely satisfying to gain a client’s trust and help them understand and overcome their greatest challenges.
My interests are many, but I especially enjoy running in the park, reading at my local bookshop, and cooking. While I like all sports, I have a real weakness for ping pong, and could happily play all day long. Through the Flex-OW program, I plan to take a sabbatical program, I plan on taking six months off to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail, a long-time dream of mine. It’s great to work at a place like OW where you really can have the best of both worlds: an exciting, dynamic career and enough time outside of work to enjoy the rest of life.
