Once you start you will be invited to attend a series of training courses designed to get you up to speed quickly. You can see an outline of these courses in the Overview of Core Training Programs. In order to give you a head start, we have provided two courses for you to review now.

 

Accounting
Many consultants join us without a formal background in Finance or Accounting. We will go into further detail on Finance and Accounting in local training sessions during your first year with the firm, but if you have not taken Finance or Accounting courses prior to starting with Oliver Wyman, please take time to order “Essentials of Accounting” and work through the exercises included in that book. We are happy to reimburse this expense once you begin work with us.

Microsoft Excel
Analytical skills are an important part of the overall consultant skill set. Microsoft Excel is the main software package used by our consultants. It is necessary for you to make sure your skills are at a basic/intermediate level before you begin. The self-guided study topics below cover the basic tools and commands in Excel. Please work through these Excel self-study courses and make sure you are comfortable with this material before your first day at Oliver Wyman.
